LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology captures millions of precise elevation points per second, creating detailed 3D representations of terrain, structures, and vegetation. Our drone-mounted LiDAR systems deliver high-accuracy geospatial data while covering large areas in a fraction of the time required for traditional ground methods, making it an essential tool for aerial intelligence across various applications.
Why Choose Drone LiDAR?
Traditional ground data collection can take days or weeks to complete and may overlook critical details in areas with dense vegetation or challenging terrain. Drone LiDAR effectively penetrates tree canopy and ground cover to capture accurate ground elevation data, even in heavily wooded areas. This capability makes it ideal for:
- Topographic mapping for site planning and design
- Pre-construction baseline mapping
- Flood plain analysis and stormwater modeling
- Corridor mapping for utilities, roads, and pipelines
- Forest inventory and timber volume estimation
- Archaeological site documentation
- Quarry and mine site volumetric analysis
- Building inspections and construction progress monitoring
Deliverables
We process raw LiDAR data into the formats your team requires. Standard deliverables include classified point clouds (LAS/LAZ), digital elevation models (DEM), digital surface models (DSM), contour lines (DXF/SHP), and georeferenced orthomosaic imagery. All data is delivered in your preferred coordinate system and can be formatted for direct import into Civil 3D, ArcGIS, QGIS, and other common engineering and design platforms.
Accuracy & Quality
Our LiDAR systems achieve vertical accuracy of ±0.10–0.15 ft (3–5 cm) RMSE when flown with ground control points. We utilize RTK/PPK positioning for precise geolocation and can integrate into existing control networks. All projects include a detailed accuracy report documenting the methods used and results achieved. Accuracy is reported per ASPRS Positional Accuracy Standards for Digital Geospatial Data.
Our deliverables are not intended to serve as, nor should they be used as a substitute for, a licensed professional land survey. View full accuracy disclaimer and terms.
